ConCertino Guests

Our Guests of Honor this year are Bill and Brenda Sutton, from Atlanta, Georgia. Accomplished musicians and songwriters (expecting a new album out soon), active filk administrators (Bill is the Southern U.S. Interfilk Director, and the conchair of GAFilk), Bill and Brenda met on the Compuserve SF&Fantasy forum, and have been avid filkers for 15 years. They also play Irish music in and around Atlanta as “Bed and Breakfast.”

Our Toastmaster is Ed Hutnik, from New Haven, Connecticut. Ed has been singing forever, parodizing since before he knew what filk was, and had his first filk performance at NoreasCon 3 (in 1989). He has been part of the SCA for 19 years, and has been gifted with a beautiful baritone (but listen to the content, too). Ed is also a collector of alternative music.

Our Listener Guest is Mike Browne, conchair of Contata 98, husband of Rennie Levine, and father of Liam Browne. Mike is best known for his songwriting and truffle-making skills, masquerading as Count Spatula at cons across North America.

Our Interfilk Guest is Alan Thiesen, an organizer of filk on the west coast since the early 1980’s, chair of the 1998 Consonance, and author of such memorable songs as “The Alfred G. Packer Memorial Cafeteria Song” and “Wishful Thinking.”
