Our Guests:

Guests of Honor: Playing Rapunzel
Playing Rapunzel are an energetic folk duo who share songs of story and myth. Mich Sampson is a lively East Londoner. Classically trained in piano and voice, she was Guest of Honor at GAFilk in 2004 and at the British Filk Convention in 2006. Marilisa Valtazanou (guitar, voice, and most other instruments) was born in Iowa, raised in Greece and now lives in London; she celebrates her multinational background by having a song in an obscure language for every occasion. She is easily recognised as the band member who will fearlessly play any instrument, including mandola, flutes, percussion, and even electric double bass. Together they have been the headline act at folk clubs in London and Sussex, and Guests of Honor at Consonance in San Francisco.

Toastmaster: Partners in K'Rhyme (Randy Hoffman and Kira Heston)
Partners in K’Rhyme's members are from southwestern Pennsylvania. Both have been active in the fannish community for a number of years. As a team they are engaging and entertaining, performing songs both funny and serious. They were well recieved as the Interfilk guests at Consonance this past March. When not on stage they each are quite active in the running of Confluence, Pittsburgh’s Literary Sci-Fi Convention.

Songwriter Guest: Ariel Cinii
The last name is pronounced “SIN-eye” but she’ll answer to “Abby.” She has been part of fandom for over 30 years as a filksinger, artist and apa-hack. She is on committee for Contata, New York City’s version of The Floating Northeast Filk Con. She writes as Sodyera on LiveJournal and contributes to APA-NYU, a local Amateur Press Association. She’s also looking for loving homes (i.e., publishers) for her series of science-fantasy novels based on the planet of her past-life recall.

Interfilk Guest: Peggi Warner-Lalonde
Peggi is an active member of the United Filkers of Ontario, and is a frequent con com member for FilKONtario, as well as Juror for the Filk Hall Of Fame. With all that keeping her busy she often doesn’t have time to perform at her own con, but those who have heard her at housefilks can attest that she is a lovely singer.
